You must have a valid credit card to donate to a fundraiser. Click here for more information on donating.

Can I get a tax deductible receipt for donating?

Donations made to nonprofit fundraisers may be tax deductible.  Generosity by Indiegogo is unable to offer tax receipts for donations made to a fundraiser for a nonprofit. Any tax receipts would come from the recipient nonprofit directly, rather than from Generosity by Indiegogo. If you are donating to a nonprofit fundraiser, we recommend that you contact the organizer directly to find out if your donation is tax deductible. We always recommend that you speak with your tax advisor about your specific situation, as we can not provide tax or legal advice.

Do I need to pay a gift tax for my donation?

Donations to personal fundraisers made on Generosity are not tax-deductible. A donation to a personal fundraiser is considered a gift. We always recommend that you speak with your tax advisor about your specific situation, as we can not provide tax or legal advice.

What is the 'Suggested Gift toward Generosity's Operating expenses?

To keep Generosity free of platform fees, we allow users to donate directly to our platform for Generosity's operational costs. These cover the costs of the technical infrastructure essential to supporting thousands of active fundraisers every day. We greatly appreciate any donations to our platform, but it is completely optional.
