Common Donation Errors

Sometimes donation attempts are unsuccessful. This can be due to a variety of factors, including restrictions placed on your transaction by your credit card company, or Generosity. When your donation is successful, we will send an automatic email confirmation to the email you provided during the support process.

Below are some common donation errors and their solutions:

Update Your Internet Browser

If you are using an outdated version of your Internet browser (i.e. Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera, etc), you may be experiencing a browser incompatibility. Please double check that your browser has been updated to its most recent version. We also suggest switching to a different browser (one that has also been updated to its most recent version) and trying to donate again.

Our site is not optimized for Internet Explorer 8.0 or earlier, so we recommend switching to Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. You can download both browsers for free at the following links:

I Can't Find My Country

If you can't find your country in the Billing Country drop-down menu when trying to donate to a fundraiser via credit card, your country may be one that we are currently unable to support.

Indiegogo Restrictions on Payment Type

At this time, we accept donations via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. We do not accept pre-paid value cards.

Currency Restrictions

Indiegogo is a U.S. based company. At this time we only host direct credit and debit transactions in U.S. dollars ($).

Donation Amount Restrictions

If you're paying via direct credit card, you will not be able to give more than $50,000 in a single transaction. If you'd like to donate more than $50,000, we recommend splitting your donation up into multiple transactions (e.g. $80,000 can be split up into 2 transactions of $50,000 and $30,000 ).
